Summary of the workshop closing meeting led by Mtsuhisa Sato and Serge G. Petiton in June 2008. Exploring collaboration opportunities in language, programming paradigms, fault tolerance, numerical methods, and applications like MD and nanotechnology. Calendar outlines key milestones to connect the PAAP dynamic with the NEGST initiative before proposing ANR-JST projects. Potential workshop in Japan in early 2009. Follow-up meetings in September and November to solidify collaboration history and scientific case. Stay tuned for updates at the Japanese-French Laboratory in Informatics (JFLI).

Perspectives and PAAP workshop closing Mtsuhisa Sato and Serge G.Petiton June 24th, 2008
Perspectives, toward PAAP Second PAAP workshop, following the “supercomputer” French Embassy initiative (start september 2006) Before : INRIA associate team and 2 CNRS-JST projects 2008, Dec 2 : CEO of CNRS would “open” In Tokyo the Japanesse-French Laboratory in Informatic (JFLI) . Official opening : January 2009. During PAAP workshop we specify several potential collaboration, espcially on the following topics : • Language • Programming paradigms • Fault Tolerance • Numercial Methods (FFT, Matrix Computation, MultiGrid, Finte Elements) • Applications (MD, Nanotech?, Life Science,?) PAAP
Calendar (1/2) We have to write first a scientific case which introduces these selected topics and describes our collaboration history and connect the PAAP dynamic with the NEGST one. First draft by mid-September Working meeting late September in Japan (cluster-grid 2008) Stable document by mid-November Working meeting in Austin (SC08) PAAP
Calendar (2/2) First potential proposal by the end of December Call for proposal ANR-JST, approx. 01/2009? Workshop PAAP in Japan in 2009????? (Kyoto in feburay or march, to prepare the future) Thank to all of you PAAP
