  2. PRU Census 2011 Deemed to be PRU • Where an establishment has an Establishment Number between 1100 and 1150 (inclusive) they will be deemed to be PRU. • Our PRU Census application will treat them in exactly the same was as it treats an establishment with School Phase set to PRU. 2

PRU Census 2011 Changes to SIMS – Release • The SIMS Autumn 2010 Release will make the following changes to SIMS for all establishments in England with School Phase set to PRU or where the Establishment Number is such that the School Phase is deemed to be PRU. • The changes will occur regardless of any other School Level settings, e.g. School Type. 3

  4. PRU Census 2011 Changes to SIMS – Unique Learning Number • ULN (Unique Learning Number) display and entry will be made available for all pupils. • The functionality will be the same as is already provided for establishment of School Types Secondary and Middle Deemed Secondary. 4

  5. PRU Census 2011 Changes to SIMS – Connexions Assent • Connexions Assent display and entry will be made available for all pupils. • The functionality will be exactly the same as is already provided for establishment of School Types Secondary and Middle Deemed Secondary. 5

  6. PRU Census 2011 Changes to SIMS – Time in Unit • Time in Unit (Unit Contact Time) display and entry will be made available for all pupils. • The functionality will be very similar to that provided for Hours at Setting. 6

PRU Census 2011 Dates • Census Day • 20/01/2011 • Used for snapshot information, e.g. Year Taught In • Age at • 31st August • Used for determining if certain items of information are included for pupils, e.g. Attendance for pupils 5 to 15 inclusive on the 31/08/2009 • Continuous Information • Attendance: Academic Year 2009/10 • 1st September 2009 to 28th May 2010 • Exclusions: Academic Year 2009/10 • 1st September 2009 to 31st August 2010 7

PRU Census 2011 Information Collected • Very similar to School Census but • Once a year • No Learning Aims • Attendance and Exclusion information for previous academic year • Extended school information, but Type not included • Teacher and Support Staff information collected at summary level 8
