Understanding Mixed Categories in British Society: Official Recognition and Personal Identities

This ESRC study explores the ethnic identifications of mixed race individuals in Britain through surveys and interviews with 350 young people. By comparing the experiences of mixed individuals of various backgrounds, including Black/White, South Asian/White, East or Southeast Asian/White, Arab/White, and minorities like Chinese, the research sheds light on the complexities of mixed categories within society.
