  1. Students are to • Understand the concepts of rotation and revolution • What causes the seasons • What causes day and night • What a year means • Be able to identify the seasons in a picture by looking at the pattern of light on the earth in relation to its axis.

  2. The earth’s tilted Axis allows earth to have seasons.

  3. Pay close attention to the axis and its direction in all seasons.

  4. Using the flashlight as the sun, examine with light and shadows. Note that the light hits hardest where the earth is at 90 degrees to the rays of light. Also point out the day and night. Day is in light, night is shadow – the shadow of the earth.
