LEARNING OBJECTIVES • ANALYSING: Distinguish between living and non-living things and draw diagram on a piece of chart. • EVALUATING: Investigate and give persuasive speech on why living and non living things differ from each other. • CREATING: To construct a project showing living and non-living things.

  3. LIVING AND NON-LIVING THINGS • LIVING THINGS Are the things which can breathe, move, grow, reproduce, feel and respond to changes around them. For e.g.: insects, plants, birds, humans, animals etc. • NON-LIVING THINGS are the things which cannot breathe, move, grow, reproduce, feel and respond to changes around them. For e.g.: Furniture, Buildings etc.

  5. Biology as the study of living things is a vast and fascinating field. To get a starting point in the study of biology, it is perhaps worthwhile to try to define what you mean by "life". Audesirk and Audesirk give a list of basic characteristics of living things. Karp approaches the same ideas in terms of the properties of living cells.
