PABI Mission Statement • To provide selected policy architects and decision leaders a platform from which to learn from expert faculty and to help overcome practical challenges to the establishment of research ethics programs at their institutions • To establish a language and cultural appropriate program at each participating organization • To recruit additional PABI fellows from institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean • To ensure sustainability and maintain top-level institutional buy-in

CITI in the Caribbean • To held a public forum en ethical issues related to genetically modified foods for developing countries • Appointed a member on the recently established National Bioethics Committee in Jamaica • Focus on establishing a University Ethics Centre • Draft proposal circulating for comments • Meetings with stakeholders • Audit on current ethics courses • Discussions on place towards the implementation of specific CITI modules in a mandatory undergraduate course
