  2. Requirements for Graduation *Graduation also requires a completion of a Career Awareness/Community Service Project Required Credits = 96 Minimum elective credits = 24 Total for graduation = 120

  3. Minimum graduation requirements should not be confused with college admission requirements. Note: Each student will take a minimum of 30 credits per year.

  27. Electives • Most courses are worth 5 credits • Students choose 2 alternatives for every chosen elective • 5 credit electives need 5 credit alternatives • 2.5 credit electives need 2.5 credit alternatives

Scheduling Timeline • Initial course request material will be mailed in April to be verified by parent. • Final recommendations regarding student placement are due May 18, 2007, which gives students ample opportunity to demonstrate ability level. • Updated course request verification will be mailed in June. • Class cancellations will be rectified on an ongoing basis once the master schedule is determined. • Schedule and/or placement changes WILL NOT be made after July 13, 2007. • Final schedules will be mailed home one week prior to the first day of school.

  29. Registration Appointments • For your child’s benefit, and to make the transition to high school as smooth as possible, parents are encouraged to attend their child’s registration appointment.

  30. Helpful Hints for a Successful Appointment • Complete course selection worksheet prior to appointment. • Choose two alternate electives for each elective selected. • Come prepared with questions. • Remind your child the morning of your scheduled appointment as their presence is key to this process.
