  3. Standard form of a quadratic equation • A quadratic equation is an equation that can be written in standard form: • ax2 + bx + c = 0, where a ≠0 • Ex: Write 3x2= - 2x +12 in standard form.

  4. City planning • A city is planning a circular duck pond for a new park. The depth of the pond will be 4 ft. Because of water resources, the maximum volume will be 20,000 ft3. Find the radius of the pond. Use the equation V=πr2h, where V is the volume, r is the radius, and h is the depth.

  5. Solve 4x2 – 100 = - 100
