  3. Dept. Vision • 本系教學宗旨在於 • 培育具有良好英語語文能力與健全文學及人文素養的 人才，以俾未來投入各業界或學界中貢獻自我以服務社會大眾。 • 本系藉由 • 全英語授課 • 扎實語言與實務訓練課程 • 文學及文化涵養課程 • 啟發學生潛力，灌輸正確的價值觀 • 培育德術兼備的完整人格。

  4. History (since 1969) • 本系於五十八學年度奉准成立，迄今已有近四十年之輝煌歷史。 • 系原為五年制，自九十學年度起，畢業年限縮短為四年，畢業後授與 學士學位 • 經歷任系主任戮力經營，不斷革新師資、加強設備、調整課程內容，終有今日之規模。

  34. Future Perspectives 本系學生畢業後的發展方向相當廣泛，適合於各行各業發展， 然而主要可分為下列六種： 1.在國內、國外的研究所繼續深造，研讀語言學、文學、教育、 大傳等，或依自己興趣選擇科系，以上亦皆為師資的最佳儲備人才。 2.商業機構：進出口貿易人才、秘書、企業經理等。 3.教育文化界：雜誌編譯、美語中心教師、博物館、藝術文化中心口譯、導覽人員。 4.政府機構：如教育部、文建會等處祕書、職員。 5.藝文界：傳播、電影、劇場工作人員。 6.航空業暨服務人員。
