The Effect of Hearing Loss on a Child’s Development

According to an Australian study, the use of hearing aids or cochlear implants in case of permanent hearing loss may develop better hearing skills. As per the research, done on kids of 5 years born with permanent deafness, the data on language skills are examined for those who received similar interventions at different points of childhood. Language outcomes of children with the cochlear implant at different ages were compared. Those who got it at 2 years of age had very bad outcomes as compared to those who got it at 6 months of age.
