Firstly, current mass gainers have made a poor choice in their source of carbohydrates. Mostly all use simple carbs such as Maltodextrin. When you eat Maltodextrin rich mass gainers, your body gets a quick boost of energy for a short period of time. The body cannot deal with this sudden rush of energy and stores the carbs as fat. Hence, I recommend using complex carbs instead of simple carbs because they release energy slowly in your blood. This slow release allows for muscle building and not fat gain.
