Used in the 3.0 TFSI, the highly efficient superchargers are located in the 90-degree V which is formed by the cylinder banks. These mechanical chargers are driven by the engine with the help of a poly-V belt. Development of torque is easier and quicker as the gas pathways of the charger are short.
