Could the Biblical God be same as All-Pervasive Brahman of the Hindus?

The Biblical understanding is that God is a power that is external to us, so to say, standing above us and guiding us from the outside. The Hindus, on the other hand, hold that God or Brahman is all pervasive. God is within- as well as without us. God is a continuum of consciousness that includes us as well. Genesis 1-9 is consistent with the Hindu concept of God as Collective Consciousness.
