  1. Disciple Building Sharing A79 Spiritual love, What is love, spiritual love, flesh love, Tender to the flesh, father's love, Rely on the Holy Spirit to put to death the evil deeds of the body

  2. Preface • What is spiritual love? When we live in this world, all we can actually think of is the physical love we can feel, but is this love real? How long can this love last? Is it good? If these answers are all negative, then what kind of love we should pursue, is the love that follows our own feelings, or is inspired by the Spirit of God to know how to be considerate of God’s love, which is Eternal love from the holy spirit

  3. What is love • Luke. 16:19 “‘There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day.” • We hope our children will have such a life in the future • Luke. 16:20 “But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate,” • Luke. 16:21 “desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.” • This is definitely not our hope that children will have such a life in the future

  4. What is love • Luke. 16:22 “So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried.” • Not bad after the beggar's death • After the rich man died???

  5. What is love • Go to hell after the rich man dies • Luke. 16:23 “And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.” • Luke. 16:24 “‘Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.'”

  6. What is love • Of course we hope that everyone 1) enjoy all the glory and wealth before death (enjoy the physical body), and 2) go to heaven after death (enjoy spiritual love) • All the enjoyment of the flesh can be truly felt, so we think this is the real thing, but once we die, it will all be over. • 2Cor. 4:18 “while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

  7. Spiritual love • Rom. 8:9 “But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. ” • Gal. 5:24 “And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” • Rom. 8:13 “For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.”

  8. Love of flesh • Rom. 13:14 “But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.” • Rom. 8:4 “that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.” • 1Cor. 3:1 “And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ.”

  9. Love of flesh • Rom. 7:18 “For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. ” • In my flesh) nothing good dwells

  10. Father’s love • When we were very young, we didn’t think our father was important. It seemed that only the mother was the backbone of the family. It didn’t matter if the father was not there, but the love of the father is the spiritual love closest to God, although we can’t see it, or feel it, but he controls the whole direction. So that the members of the family will not lose their steps. Like my father didn’t say a few words to me in his life, but I remember he said that money is not the most important thing in life.

  11. Follow the will of flesh-Examples • One year in Africa they discovered that there was an elephant herd that caused trouble everywhere and even killed rhinos. They carefully studied that there was no male adult elephant in the elephant herd, so they found a few male elephants to put in this elephant herd. This problem is solved • A well-known example in the United States is Menendez’s brother. The two brothers killed their parents with a shotgun, but in the end they were not sentenced to death but life imprisonment. Because a juror said that they were very pitiful, and they lost their parents

  12. By the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, • Rom. 8:13 “For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.” • Rom. 8:6 “For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” • 1John. 2:15 “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” • 1John. 2:16 “For all that is in the world--the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life--is not of the Father but is of the world.”
