  4. Visioning is… A structured process to help members develop a plan for the future of their Club A way to move Clubs up the ‘vibrancy scale’ An ongoing process 4

  5. Visioning is not… Just about getting new members Something you will be told to do by RI, RIBI or the District A quick fix 5

  6. So why is a plan needed? Tradition of annual cycles has not been effective Need for greater Continuity, Consistency and Consensus Ability of ALL club members to shape the focus of the club 6

Visioning Sessions Following an initial presentation to the club Visioning sessions are Facilitated by the District Visioning team Up to four hours – e.g. weekends, early evening – (whatever suits the club) Uses a tried and tested methodology gets the group to answer the key planning questions Who are we? Where are we now? Where do we want to be? How will we get there? How will we know when we’ve arrived? 10

  12. Visioning Session - output A Club Vision is a living management tool that: Defines a shared commitment Provides long-term direction Creates a framework to establish goals and objectives Optimises use of resources 12

  13. Visioning follow-up Structured next steps to be completed by the Club Write Mission/Vision/Elevator Speech Present at club business meeting-gain consensus Create 3-5 year plan Breakdown into Annual Goals 13
