  4. Dress for Success • 1 Step Above—Dress one step above the job you are applying for. • Well-groomed, trimmed fingernails, clean teath, neat hair. • Shave • Be conservative

  5. Have a Good Attitude • Be positive!! • Positive body language. Smile • Firm Handshake

  6. Speak for Success • Make only positive comments regarding former teachers and employers • Never talk negatively about yourself • Listen attentively and give concise answers • Remember: There is no one right or wrong answer. It is how you react that counts. • Speak clearly and at a moderate pace.

  7. Ask Your Own Questions • Be prepared to ask your own questions. • Demonstrate your interest in the job. • Research company to ask relevant questions • Do not ask questions regarding pay or benefits. • Examples: • What is the potential for growth in this position? • What are the key skills needed for success in this job.

  8. Follow up after the interview • Evaluate the interview • Reflect and take notes on your performance. • What went well and what could you do better. • Send a Thank You Note
