  1. 2007 Oslo Summary: • A lot of better technology but still many accidents. Why? Processes seems “in general” in place and education requirements seems also rather well known. • GPS technical issues are generally sorted out and main focus on a very complex mix of communication systems both on ground and in space • Galileo is the main star on the horizon but horizon is dizzy and it is hard to know the distance to the horizon….. • I would like to see more human interaction people involved like paper presented: Integrated bridges – Human and cognative difficulties by Margareta Lütshöft • Technology comes first, then usage standards! When will we be in phase? • Welcome to the precise navigation conference in March (tentative dates 11-12 March Oslo or Gothenburg) Lars E Magnusson, NNF

IAIN 2009 in Stockholm (27-30 Oct -09) • Themes & sessions still under debate - Galileo in IOC 2009? and when in FOC (technical) - Galileo, GPS and Glonass (political) - Military issues - e-Nav & PNAV • The conference will be in downtown • City hall reception - Value ~50k€ (Not Nobel dinner though, but same hall…) • Spouses program/Social program - Several ambition levels and attractions - Wasa historical ship, Old town, Stockholm Archipelago etc. Would e-nav prevented the accident of WASA?
