  2. Quick-write • What is Mark Twain being critical of in chapter 2 of The Mysterious Stranger? • What satirical techniques does he use in chapter 2? Pick a quotation shows his use of each technique.

Comic Strip • In a group of two or three, create a 3-image comic strip illustrating Satan’s creation and destruction of the clay village. • Your strip should include: • 3 different illustrations • At least one direct quotation for each illustration • A caption for each illustration that explains the action
