Do Now: Read the following summary for the short story “Hallucination” by Isaac Asimov • Setting: Energy Planet; the future • Sam Chase is sent as an apprentice to Energy Planet by Central Computer. The project is to harness the energy of the neutron star and use it as a power station. Sam’s interest is in neurophysiology, the study of functions of the brain and nervous system. He is not trained in gravitational engineering, and he wonders why he has been sent to this place. People working on the project have had hallucinations, and the commander is ill, but these facts have been kept hidden.
