  6. Using the Online Schedule of Classes • Pay attention to which DISC or LAB are linked to the desired lecture

  7. Using the Online Schedule of Classes • Be sure to record the 5-digit CRN for each component of each course • The lecture components for CHEM and MATH have been selected for you

Constructing a Course Schedule • Use a piece of scratch paper to sketch your schedule • Lectures, discussions and labs CANNOT overlap – not even a little • M = Monday, T = Tuesday, W = Wednesday, R = Thursday, F = Friday , S = Saturday • Don’t forget to double-check the final exams for the courses. Those can’t overlap either.

  10. Course Registration • Log onto http://my.ucmerced.edu • Select MyRegistration

  11. Course Registration • Select Register/Add/Drop Classes

  12. Course Registration • Select the appropriate term • In each box, input one CRN each. All linked course components must be submitted at once • Click Submit Changes

  13. Course Registration • Verify that you were successfully enrolled

  14. Errors and Problems • If you encounter Add errors, pay close attention to the status on the far left • LINK ERROR – unable to enroll in all the required components of a course • Solution – double-check the Schedule of Classes to ensure that you have selected the associated components and each of them are OPEN with no time conflicts

What do I do next? • Maintain your Course Schedule • Advisors cannot add or drop you from your courses • Be aware of the policies/deadlines • Register ON-TIME! • Be aware of your appointment and be ready to add before the best times fill • Create a balanced schedule • You know what you can handle, make sure your schedule does not overwhelm you
