  3. What is PPBR… PowerPoint Book Reports A fun new way to present what you know about the book you read.

  4. What is the point? To give you an EXCITING and NEWway to present a book to the class using your CREATIVITY and THE COMPUTER!

  6. Step One • Find a book • Read your book • Create a Thinking Map to organize your thoughts.

  7. Step Two 2 2 2 • Search for graphics. • Find your books cover to include in the presentation. • Save all “possible” graphics to your flash drive. • Find a website that describes the author of your book. • Save the link to that website so that you can hyperlink it to your PPBR. 2 2 2 2 2 2

  8. Step Three Make a Story Board -- INCLUDE -- Five slides 1. Title slide and thesis statement 2. Plot summary 3. Plot summary con’t. 4. Personal connection 5. Evaluate the author’s ideas.

  13. Report Requirements • Slide 1: Title, author, graphic of book cover and thesis statement. For example: "The Magic Fish" is a story about wanting material possessions, greed and bullying. • Slide 2&3: Brief summary of the story, focusing on character attributes and changes. This should not be merely a plot summary, but a depiction of the characters, their interactions, and their changes.

Report Requirements • Slide 4: What is the personal connection between the key idea in the text and an incident from one's own experience, either lived or vicarious? • Slide 5: Evaluate the author's ideas. Arrive at a general insight about life. What is the message that the author is trying to convey? Do you agree with the author? Include a hyperlink to a website that describes the author of your book.
