  7. Marriage and Partner Relationship Marriage is certainly one of the most beautiful dreams of life. The marriage license, though only a piece of paper, ensures the legitimacy of the relationship between a man and a woman. Families are also the cells of the whole society, whose health is much dependent upon that of husbands, wives, and children. What’s more, the family is the harbor of grown-ups in this highly adventurous world.

  8. But many people today prefer to live with a partner for the whole life or for a long time before marriage. The most visible benefit of this stripped-down type of man-woman relationship is that life is much relaxing. For example, one doesn’t need to take up the never-ending responsibilities or mind the chores of the family. Often both the man and the woman, believing that familiarity breeds contempt, meet only on weekends to enjoy the company of each other. People can therefore spare a lot of time and energy, precious in this competitive world, for an expected career.

  9. Of course, both kinds of relationships have their weaknesses. Marriage could be time-consuming in smoothing out all the itches (痒), seven-year ones of daily skirmishes(口角). Partnership, though pretty romantic, often produces an awful sense of imperfection.

  10. As for me, I’d like to have a family when I am sufficiently prepared for pitfalls(意想不到的困难) on the road of successful marriage. Before that, I would choose to live with a partner, and then make the lifestyle of Dinks. But as long as we love each other, life could be equally beautiful.
