  3. DVB 規格(1) • 操作位置: • 和MPEG2 coded TV 相容 • 工作頻帶:operate within VHF、UHF spectrum • 問題1、問題2 P.S:VHF:136-160MHz UHF:406-420MHz、450-470MHz、 470-512MHz

  5. DVB 規格(2) • Q1:需要足夠的保護來對抗和PAL、SECAM、NTSC頻帶重疊而產生的Co-channel interference (CCI)和Adjacent-channel interference (ACI) • Q2:需要最大頻譜效率 解決Q2可以使用Single Frequency Network (SFN)解決 解決Q1、Q2:使用OFDM

  6. DVB 規格(3) • 為了和satellite baseline規格、cable baseline規格有最大共通性 : 1. outer coding、 outer interleaving均相同 2. inner coding 和satellite相同 • 為了允許optimal trade-off between network topology (type) and 頻譜效率 使用可調整的GI GI可使系統支援不同的網路架構

  7. DVB 規格(4) • 兩種操作模式: 1.2K mode:單傳送器、小的SFN網路 2.8K mode:單傳送器、小(大)的SFN網路 • 允許不同level的QAM調變和不同的inner code rate 用來trade bit-rate VS ruggedness • 允許2-level hierarchical channel coding& modulation包含uniform和multi-resolution modulation constellation system多虛線部分

  9. DVB細部解說(1) • splitter功用:將進來的transport stream分成2個獨立的MPEG2 transport stream,分別為 high-priority stream 和low-priority stream 1. high-priority:high bit-rate、less ruggedness 2. low-priority: low bit-rate、more ruggedness

  10. DVB細部解說(2) • 承上,為了保證由上述分成兩種優先順序的信號能被簡單的接收器接收,hierarchical的類別限制在:channel coding、channel modulation、而沒有source coding • 接收端只有de-mapper/demodulator需要兩組,其他都只需要一組 • 接收器很便宜,所以它不能在連續decoding和present圖和聲音時switch layer(from rugged layer to less rugged layer)

  14. Transport MUX adaptation and randomization for energy dispersal(2) • sync byte以 (01000111)表示 • 為了確保足夠的binary transition,要以下面的多項式( ,來源:satellite baseline,規格:EN 300 421,初始值=100101010000000 )將原始信號打亂 • 要randomize的只有data(187bytes)部分,sync不做

  15. Transport MUX adaptation and randomization for energy dispersal(3) • 每8個packet成1個group • 8個packet中,第1個同步byte為 ( ) 提供descrambler的初始信號。 • 由上圖,除了第1個byte外,scrambler產生的PRBS(Pseudo Random Binary Sequence )是連續的,但是遇到同步byte時,產生的值被disable,所以scrambler的週期是188*8-1=1503bytes

  16. Outer coding(1) • Reed-solomon RS (204,188,t=8) shortened code,由 original systematic RS(259,239,t=8)code 得到,被用在b圖的188byte上(包含同步byte),最後長度=188+產生之16(parity byte)=204bytes(c圖)

  17. Outer coding(2) • code generator 多項式:  • field generator 多項式:  • Reed-solomon可由在原本的188+16=204byte前面+51個zero byte=259byte輸入RS encoder,而經過RS (255,239,t=8)coding procedure 前面的zero byte會被去掉,使得RS code word為N=204byte
