Progress envisaged by beginning of 2010 • 17 Applied Research projects are in motion • 9 Targeted Analysis are underway • 10 Stakeholder Ideas for further projects are in process for the call for proposals in 2010 • 2 (of 3) major Scientific Platform projects will have been set up • 5 scientific tools is under development • 5 territorial trends (map updates) are implemented • Capitalisation actions making ESPON 2013 visible • Private bodies are participating as partners in project teams

Potential accessibility by air, 2001-2006 (Change in regions relative position) Gains in Eastern Member States (and in some peripheral regions) Highest losses (of index points): Many regions located between the inter-national airports Trend supports better territorial balance at European scale
