  2. Mission Analysis • Q: How many Soldiers will need to be trained? • A: 15 Soldiers per Battalion 3 Soldiers per Company X 4 = 12 3 Soldiers per Battalion HQ =3 • Q: Who will need to be trained? A: 3 Soldiers per Company HQ (recommend computer literate between E-5 through E-7) 3 Soldiers from the S/2/S3 sections at BN HQ with the same requirements noted above. If 506th RCT units are utilizing a company intel cell, it is highly recommended that at least one of the assigned Soldiers per company attend the BAT/HIIDE training

What will be trained? • Introduction to Biometrics/Biometrics Enabled Intelligence • Biometric Automated Toolset (BAT) Operator • BAT Data Manager • Handheld Interagency Identity Detection Equipment (HIIDE) Device Operator • HIIDE Data Manager • Watchlist procedures • Training will be Train-the-Trainer Concept (T3)

  4. Training Outline • 1 hour- Introduction to Biometrics/Biometrics Enabled Intelligence • 2 hours-BAT operator training • 2 hours- BAT data management training • 2 hours-HIIDE operator training • 1 hours- HIIDE data management • 1 hour-Practical exercise • Operational vignettes and the biometrics intelligence process will be applied in all blocks of instruction

Training Schedule BAT/HIIDE Training Dates BN 1- 01 November 2007 BN 2- 02 November 2007 BN 3- 05 November 2007 BN 4- 06 November 2007 BN 5- 07 November 2007 BN 6- 08 November 2007 HHC- 13 November BN Battle Staff Training to be conducted on 14-16 November 2007. Each BN Battle Staff will receive a 4 hour block of training, with 2 BNs trained per day in am/pm sessions.

Daily Training Timeline • 0900-1000 Introduction to Biometrics/Biometrics Enabled Intelligence • 1000-1200 BAT operator training • 1200-1300 Lunch • 1300-1500 BAT data management training • 1500-1700 HIIDE operator training • 1700-1800 Dinner • 1800-1900 HIIDE data management training • 1900-2000 Practical Exercise

  7. Battle Staff Training S-2 Section • BAT database search features • BAT dossiers and their attachments • Automated Identity Management System (AIMS) • Biometrics Intelligence Analysis Report • Biometric Targeting • Employment of BAT/HIIDE • Application to C-IED fight • Watchlists

  8. Battle Staff Training S-3 Section • Employment of BAT/HIIDE • Biometrics in an “offensive” capacity • Population Management • Watchlists • Biometric Targeting • Army G-3 Message/tasks • Application to the C-IED fight • Role of the FSE
