  1. What is Integrity? Can you define it completely?

  2. Dictionary.com Integrity 1. adherencetomoralandethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty. 2. the state of being whole, entire, or undiminished: to preserve theintegrity of the empire. 3. a sound, unimpaired, or perfectcondition:theintegrity of a ship's hull.

  3. Moral and Ethical Principles? • What does adherencetomoralandethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty, mean to you? Discuss • What does that look like in action? Discuss

  4. What does being whole have to do with integrity? • How does the state of being whole, entire, or undiminished:relate to honesty, to your word? Discuss • How do you view others who are rarely on time? Rarely keep their commitments to meet you places? Are those the actions of someone with a high level of integrity? Discuss • Are you that person? Consider for yourself

  5. What is a lack of integrity? • Does someone who is never on time lack integrity in that area? Yes or No? • Do you ever feel like you have to lie about the starting time for something so that someone will do what they said they would do, when they said they would do it? Like how important something is, or what time they have to be there, or who else is coming. Yes or No? • Do you really trust someone like that fully? Yes or No? • Again, are you that person for other people? Consider for yourself…

  6. You are your word • No matter how weak your word is, how unreliable, you are your word for people. If your word is weak, can’t be relied on, that’s who you really are for other people… • Are you okay with that? Consider for yourself

  7. What to do about a failure to have integrity • You have to make it right and you have to be the one to make it right. • Don’t let the other person be the one to bring up that you didn’t do what you said you would do when you said you would do it. (that includes homework) If someone else has to bring it up they are “catching” you. You still seem dishonest, irresponsible.

  8. Get Real • Communicate that you get how it affected them. If you were late, or didn’t turn something in on time, or didn’t show up when you said you’d be there, say so and let them know you understand the effect it had on them. They were left waiting, grading your late work or feeling abandoned. • DON’T GIVE EXCUSES. Unless you nearly died or someone else nearly did, the concern isn’t about why you didn’t keep your word, only that you didn’t.

  9. Make a promise • Tell them how you will act in the future when this particular situation arises. • Then the hardest part for most people: • KEEP
