  1. Moving from HDTV-1 to HDTV-2 • VQEG agreed to use the HDTV Phase 1 test plan for the first draft of HDTV Phase 2 test plan • The question for this meeting is to identify parts of the test plan that VQEG may want to change. • The following two slides show what people said:

  2. Opinions of HDTV Test – Good & Bad • Examine scope – cover new technologies and applications • Run data analysis of individual datasets without the common set. See if this made a difference. • Epsilon independent RMSE • Publish video sequences and MOS scores quickly, so they can be used as one subjective data set.

  3. Opinions of HDTV Test – Good & Bad • Make bit-streams and PCAP files available, if possible, for HRCs. • Accurate documentation on how each HRC was created. Write down as much information on the HRC creation as possible, though perhaps stopping short of providing manufacturer names. • Manufacturer information could be considered confidential VQEG information (i.e., made available within VQEG for all HRCs, but not outside of VQEG).
