  1. ZESPÓŁ DS. GALILEO WARSZAWA, 08. 02. 2013 Galileo FOC Timing InterfaceWorking Group – opis mechanizmu przyjmowania nowych członków Jerzy Nawrocki Centrum Badań Kosmicznych, ObserwatoriumAstrogeodynamiczne, PolskaAkademiaNauk, Borowiec Waowice, 04-09-2006

  2. Control Segment of Galileo SatelliteNavigation System • Galileo Time Service Provider, responsible for computation of Galileo System • Precise Time Facility (PTF) – physicalrealization of Galileo System Time Two PTF stations (Fucino (Alenia-Spazio),Pfafenhofen, DLR) Runninginparallel (Master and Slave)

  3. (*)FOC –FullOperationalCapability Galileo FOC* Timing Interface WorkingGroup: White Paper Document intended as a technical input for EC/ESA in support of the procurement of the Galileo Time Service Provider for the Galileo IOC phase. The GTSP is one of the Galileo external service facilities required to achieve the Galileo Initial Operational Capability (IOC) and to provide Galileo early services. Discussion on allorganizational and technicalaspects of Galileo Time Service Provider

  4. Aktualna sytuacja: • Prototype of Galileo Time Service Provider, locatedat CNES isstill • working (weightedaverage of indications of atomicclocks_ • Theworking Group recommendedrealization of Galileo System Time • Based on UTC time realized by European laboratories, so called UTC(k) • Finallocation of GTSP decided, candidates (INRIM, PTF’s, ESA)

  5. Realizacja czasu Galileo

  6. Time ValidationFacility (TVF) • Involvement in the TVF of national timing • laboratories participating in the definition of the • UTC (e.g. INRIM, PTB, NPL, OP, ROA) • The TVF should be deployed at and operated by an • European UTC Timing Laboratory.

  7. Realizacja czasu Galileo • FOC, the above TGVF • The Galileo metrological time keeping function is essential for provision • of the UTC dissemination through Galileo SIS as requested by MRD. • This function is allocated to the TVF. TVF tasks are: • Operating the daily time transfer links to UTC(k) laboratories • required for the prediction of UTC, the periodic calibration of the equipment; • - Continuously predicting UTC; • Providing Galileo with the daily predicted value of UTC-GST time and • frequency offset and the UTC-GST daily steering (modulo 1 second) • correction; • Interfacing with the BIPM by receiving from BIPM the • Circular T (UTC-UTC(k)(historical)); • Interfacing IERS/BIPM by receiving from it information on • TAI-UTC offset (leap second);

  8. Core UTC(k)laboratories • (INRIM, PTB, NPL, OP, ROA) • Associated UTC(k) laboratories • (………………………………)
