  2. A Doctorate in Applied Statistics is offered by Department of Applied Statistics attached to the Faculty of Cybernetics at the Taras Shevchenko National University - Open University.

  3. After the completion of a Masters program in Applied Statistics degree, students are able to enter a Doctorate program to obtain their Doctorate in Applied Statistics. This degree prepares the student for a possible career in academia. Students would have already studied a number of statistics subjects during the process of their Master's degree which they would be applying to research during their Doctorate in the subject.

  4. A Doctorate in Applied Statistics grounds a graduate in statistical research. Some students do go on to work in the public, medical and private sectors at a higher level or begin a business in private statistical consulting, most students obtaining a Doctorate in this field are looking to improve knowledge in the field. Statistical researchers are generally professors at universities and most tend to do research in techniques and theorems.

  5. The Doctorate needs an advanced mathematical understanding. This would include Real Analysis, Topology, complex variables, multi-variable calculus and more.

  6. During your studies towards your Doctorate, you would be required to find a mentor or join a team involved in research in an area that you find interesting.   7. Admission Criteria • This program is equivalent to EQF (European Qualifications Framework) Level 8 - Doctorate Level • Duration: + 3 years

  8. Age: Minimum age 25 years • Previous study: Master Degree in the related field or equivalent • Fee: 1990 Euro per year
