With a mission to grow solar electricity generation, SolarShare offers tangible financial, social, and environmental returns. They raise funds through Solar Bonds and other investment options, allowing individuals to support renewable energy while earning competitive returns. Through their leadership in sustainable energy education and national expansion plans, SolarShare aims to create a low-carbon economy and make clean energy accessible to all.

About • Not-for-profit established in 1998 to incubate renewable energy co-ops and community-based projects • First community-owned wind turbine in Canada – Ex Place,Toronto 2002 - joint venture with Toronto Hydro & WindShare Co-op • TREC Services – fee for service - administrative, member management, and social finance back office services (custodial, transfer agent, etc). • Leader in sustainable energy education (Kids World of Energy, Green Collar Careers, etc)

About Mission:To grow solar electricity generation by engaging citizens in projects that offer tangible financial, social and environmental returns. • Incorporated 2010, not-for profit • 29 active solar projects, more in pipeline • Assets worth ~$30 Million • ~900 members, • ~$10 Million raised in Solar Bonds

  4. Project Financing Cycle Refinance after completion • Solar Bonds: 5 year, 5% • LTD or Long Bonds: 15 year @ 6.0% • Construction & Equity Bridge (9-12% interest)
