  2. Hacer ahora • Translate the following sentences from English to Spanish. • Juan reads magazines every day. • She plays in a band with her friends. • Julio and Pepe travel sometimes. • I like to play volleyball. • We like to take naps in the afternoon. • Do you work after school?

  3. Hacer Ahora • Juan lee las revistas todos los días. • Ella toca en una banda con sus amigos. • Julio y Pepe viajan a veces. • Me gusta jugar al volibol. • Nos gusta tomar una siesta por la tarde. • ¿Trabajas después de la escuela.

  4. Boot / Stemchangingverbs • Boot Verbs / Stem changing verbs are verbs that are irregular in the present tense. • These verbs have a change in the stem of the verb. • Jugar: Jug is the stem • The change must always occur with a vowel. • The different type of stem changes can be: o-ue, e-ie, u-ue, and e-i.

  5. Boots / StemChangers cont. • The stem change occurs in all forms of the verbs EXCEPT nosotros and vosotros. Nosotros and vosotros are conjugated normally. • Once you do the stem change, just add the normal endings for AR, ER, and IR verbs.
