  3. Pre-requisite • Previous programming experience • such as CS 1130 • Math • to solve the problems • English • to understand programming • Any one can take CS143 • But not everyone can pass CS143 • D/F rate: 25-40%

Which course to take? • CS183: Microcomputer Applications • How to use Windows and Microsoft Office • CS113: Introduction to Programming • “Karel the Robot” • First 5 chapters of CS143 • CS143: Programming in C++ • Basic programming skills in C++ • CS243: Object-Oriented Programming and Data Structures I

  5. Quizzes • Most Fridays (Except for exam weeks) • 10-15 minutes before the class ends • Good way to prepare for exams
