The Public IGDI Home Page Publicly accessible web resources (no login required) Descriptions of all IGDI measures. What they measure, how they’ve been tested, and how to use and score them Printable forms for conducting and scoring assessments Training requirements for certification, training videos, PowerPoint presentations, etc.

Using the Data System: Program Management User management tools available for Program Coordinators Change users’ access levels Edit, delete, deactivate users
Outgoing Program Coordinator – Certify Incoming Coordinator • Incoming coordinator completes certification process • Outgoing coordinator creates account on website for new coordinator • New coordinator should inactivate old coordinator’s account • Assessors and data entry personnel cannot do this
Data Download to Local Spreadsheet • All program and/or project data can be downloaded for additional analysis and management with local software (e.g., Excel) • Only available for: • Program directors • Program coordinators • Project directors
Data Download to Local Spreadsheet • After clicking “Data Download” from the main menu • Select what type of data you want to download “ECI” downloads all active ECI observations for your program/project. If you have observations for other measures, they will also be available. “Child Details” downloads demographic information about all children in your program/project
Data Download to Local Spreadsheet • For an explanation of each field contained in the spreadsheet, view the appropriate “Database Documentation” file. Database documentation files provide detailed explanations of the data fields in the downloaded spreadsheets.
In Summary: Typical Website Use Before An Assessment… • View Individual Child Report for child you’re about to assess • Is child on target, below, or slightly below benchmark? • Is there an intervention in place? • Is slope increasing/decreasing? • Conduct observation • Enter ECI data • View Individual Child Report • Any change from last observation? ECI Online Scoring Certification– Program Coordinator • Program Coordinator sets up a “Trainee” account on the website for each trainee (you’ll need trainees’ email addresses): • Login to the website • Click “Program Users” on left menu • Click “Add New User” • Enter user information, select “Trainee” for user type
ECI Online Scoring Certification -- Trainee • Print an ECI scoring form: www.igdi.ku.edu/training/ECI_training/eci_data_sheet-2005.pdf • Score a certification video (preferably the infant with the House) www.igdi.ku.edu/training/ECI_training/ECI_videos/index.htm • Login to the website using login information emailed to you • Click “Enter Certification Scores” • Select video that you scored • Enter and submit your scores • Review the results • If you get less than 85% overall agreement, review the scoring definitions for those key skill elements for which you scored particularly low • Repeat these steps for each video until you get at least 85% overall agreement for each video • After 3 tries, review the definitions with your coordinator, another certified person on your staff, or us (Dale or Jay)
Administration Certification –Trainee • Review and learn the Administration Guide available on the website • Videotape one administration of the ECI with an infant or toddler (6 – 36 months of age) in your program • Check your steps with the Administration Checklist available on the website • Submit video to be reviewed by a certified person at your site or send one to Juniper Gardens
