  1. Grayton Beach State Park, Florida Grayton Beach State Park, situated along the South Walton County shoreline, spans 2,000 acres and boasts a pristine, mile-long beach with soft white sand. Often acclaimed as one of America's best beaches by beach expert Randall Kaplan, it features large sand dunes and coastal plants like sea oats and bluestem. While lacking lifeguards, the park provides various amenities, including restrooms, picnic tables, and accessible facilities. Activities abound, such as sunbathing, beachcombing, picnicking, fishing, wildlife watching, hiking, biking, swimming, and water sports like kayaking and surfing. The beach is known for unpredictable rip currents, so caution is advised. The park's diverse landscape includes pine flatwoods and a coastal forest, hosting animals like Florida black bears, foxes, eagles, ospreys, and deer. Western Lake, a coastal dune lake within the park, offers opportunities for boating, kayaking, fishing, and paddleboarding. There's also a campground for both RVs and tents, with reservations available through the Florida State Parks website. Accessing Grayton Beach State Park is convenient from Florida State Road 30A, and a parking fee applies. Nearby attractions include Cerulean Park with scenic biking and jogging paths, Point Washington State Forest with diverse ecosystems and activities, and the historic Wesley House at Eden Gardens State Park. If hunger strikes, several restaurants are close by, such as FOOW, Chanticleer Eatery, and The Meltdown on 30A. For accommodations, options include the upscale WaterColor Inn with multiple amenities and the more affordable Hibiscus Coffee & Guesthouse or Beachwood Villa by Rivard.
