  3. The sleepy fishing village of Sanur was developed as Bali’s first resort to accommodate the needs to international travelers. But long before the arrival of tourists, this enchanting beach front destination was home to renowned Belgian artist, Adrien Jean Le Mayeur de Merpres. Sanur a fost prima staţiune din Bali, dar în ultima vreme, datorită dezvoltării altor zone precum Kuta sau Nusa Dua, această staţiune a cam fost lăsată în urmă iar acum este frecventată în general de familii cu copii, cupluri liniştite sau persoane mai în vârstă. Nu degeaba i se mai spune şi "Snore" (a sforăi), chiar este o staţiune liniştită Sanur

  9. Bali Beach Hotel, 1966 Initiated by Sukarno, the first hotel of international quality was opened in Sanur, financed with the help of Japanese war reparations. In a strange coincidence the old Bali Hotel in Denpasar had been built on the site of the Dutch puputan in 1906 and the Bali Beach Hotel was built precisely on the spot where the Dutch landed prior to that puputan. It turned out that most tourists found it too international and preferred to spend their time in more local style, that is to say, in thatched cottages. Many hotels now build thatched villas. It was also too tall and a law was passed that future buildings should not exceed the height of a coconut tree. That law is no longer followed.

  11. Egg art from Bali is an old tradition on the island. So those eggs are the shells from either duck, goose, ostrich (kasuari) and even crocodile eggs. Some are selected for perfect round shaped, unbroken ones. Very interesting how the Balinese art-painters create their subjects and produce a very artful, artistic product.
