Parent Responsibilities • Speak with your child before threats are made • Call the school hotline (973) 383-5300, ext. 224 • Make an appointment to meet with a school counselor and the principal to discuss possible conflict resolutions • Be prepared for the student making a threat to be sent home and remain home until a final determination is made • Be prepared to take a student who issues a threat to a mental health agency to determine the readiness of the student to return to school
