Your artifact will be scanned and emailed to you directly in PDF form. All you have to do is upload it! 23. Important Scanning Notes Portfolio Scanning and Uploading Demo While we would like you to upload your artifacts in a bundle as Ms. Gildayjust demonstrated, (meaning all of the pieces together in one document) we realize that won’t always be possible. If you are including an audio or video artifact you will upload two separate pieces. First you will upload the artifact cover sheet followed by the graded rubric or artifact reflection, depending on whether or not it is a teacher required artifact or a personal choice artifact. After you upload those that, you will need to upload the mp3 or video file. It is recommended that you name the mp3 or video file with the same name as the first part of the artifact you’ve already uploaded adding the text “part 2” to the title so it is clear what that file is associated with. For example, if you titled your Cover Sheet and Rubric/Artifact Reflection “Jazz Band Solo” you would title the mp3 file “Jazz Band Solo Part 2” indicating those two uploaded items are connected.

  24. Steps to Upload the Artifact to Career Cruising Portfolio Scanning and Uploading Demo • Note: Instructions on how to upload can also be found in your Portfolio • Handbook on pages 12-13 • 1. Log-on to Career Cruising • 2. Click on “My Files” • 3. Select “Add Document.”

This verifies that this printout refers to your portfolio. This is the only verification that will be accepted. Note: Instruction on how to print verification can also be found in your Portfolio Handbook on page 14.

  29. Important Notes Portfolio Scanning and Uploading Demo Please remember that the work you do on your portfolio is done outside of school. There will not be time to do the work of your portfolio during homeroom. Your homeroom teacher may occasionally talk with you about your portfolio to see how you are doing but they will not be able to provide in-depth support. If you are not on track with your portfolio, your homeroom teacher will communicate with the Portfolio Coordinator or an administrator about the status of your portfolio. The Portfolio Coordinator or your Administrator will monitor your progress and impose consequences if necessary.

  30. Important Notes Portfolio Scanning and Uploading Demo • In addition to progressive discipline consequences for not keeping your portfolio up to date, there are also progressive discipline consequences for not completing teacher required artifacts. • Consequences for both issues can include but are not limited to: • Lunch Detention • In School Suspension • Out of School Suspension • Loss of Off Campus Pass • Restriction from buying formal dance tickets like Tolo or Prom • Parent Meetings

  31. Important Notes Portfolio Scanning and Uploading Demo As with any new initiative, the first year can be challenging. We strongly believe that this portfolio is in the best interest of students and we will do our best to solve issues as they come up. Please continue to report challenges you are having so we can make this process as smooth as possible for you. If you have any portfolio related questions, email Mrs. Brady at gbrady@lwsd.org
