  3. Maldescended Testis • Cannot be manipulated in the scrotum without undue tension on the cord • Undecscended testis • Intra-abdominal • Canalicular • Emergent • Ectopic testis • Pre-penile • Femoral • Perineal • Crossed ectopia

  4. Retractile/Ascending Testis • Cremastric reflex • Testis in scrotum when warm and relaxed • Retraction into the superficial inguinal pouch • Testis can be brought into the scrotum without tension on the cord • No surgical intervention required

  5. Empty Scrotum -Diagnosis • Examination • Laparoscopy

  6. Madescended Testis –Operate? • Azoospermia • Malignancy • Cosmetic/psychological effect

  7. Surgical Procedures • Orchidopexy with extra-dartos pouch • Single-stage microvascular transfer • Fowler-Stephens orchidopexy
