  25. Evaluation Criteria • Proposed Results 40% • Producer Demand 20% • Team/Organizational Capacity & Collaboration15% • Results Verification 10% • Innovative Approach & Review of Past Projects 10% • Wide Application 5% www.extensionrme.org

  26. Evaluation Criteria Proposed Results – 40% • Single most important factor in funding decisions • Clear statement of what you “anticipate participants will learn, achieve and apply” • Specific, measurable and verifiable www.extensionrme.org

  27. Evaluation Criteria Looking at Proposed Results • What is the risk management improvement for producers? • Is it a result vs. project step? • What is the producer action? • Understand, Analyze, Develop, Decide, Implement • “Understand” is the weakest action; “Implement” is the strongest action • Plan the results to get the strongest actions possible www.extensionrme.org

  28. Evaluation Criteria Looking at Proposed Results • What is farm or ranch economic viability? • To improve profitability • To increase opportunities for equity growth over time www.extensionrme.org

  29. Evaluation Criteria • Producer Demand - 20% • Document the willingness of producers to participate • Survey results; follow-up evaluations from prior workshops; benchmark information on participants’ knowledge level and attitude • A statement of risk management needs without any evidence of actual producer demand will not meet the requirements of this criterion. www.extensionrme.org

  30. Evaluation Criteria • Team/Organizational Capacity & Collaboration – 15% • Equal value to team and collaborators. • Important to identify your project team and the specific role each will have in the project. • Helps to identify the ability of the team to deliver on the risk management education.

  31. Evaluation Criteria • Team/Organizational Capacity & Collaborators – 15% • Collaborators provide technical expertise/knowledge. • Collaborators provide access to your target audience. • Collaborators play specific role. • Collaborators are not part of the day-to-day management of the project.

  32. Evaluation Criteria • Results Verification– 10% • How and when will results be measured? • How will you verify risk management results were achieved? • How will you establish & identify indicators for long-term results? www.extensionrme.org

  33. Evaluation Criteria • Innovative Approach & Review of Past Projects – 10% • Innovative approach and materials building on existing knowledge base. • Avoid “re-inventing the wheel”, build upon or collaborate with other risk management education programs. www.extensionrme.org

  34. Evaluation Criteria • Wide Application – 5% • Can program and techniques be applied elsewhere? • Can materials and techniques be adapted to other situations? • Annie's, Winning the Game etc. www.extensionrme.org
