  2. Syllabus • Informatica Training Course In pune(Etlhive)

  3. Datawarehousing Concepts • What is DataWarehousing and Business intelligence? • Case Studies on Banking, Case Study on Stock Market, Case study on E commerce.,DataWarehousing Schema in real life. • Types of Facts: Addictive facts, Semi Addictive Facts, Non addictive facts, Cumulative and snapshot. • Types of Dimensions: Slowly changing Dimensions , Rapidly Changing Dimensions ,Confirmed Dimensions, Degenerate Dimensions • DataWarehousing Layers: Data Source Layer ,Data Extraction Layer, Data staging layer, ETL layer, Data storage layer, Data Logic layer, Data presentation layer, System operational layer. • OLTP(online transactional processing) and OLAP(Online analytical processing).

  4. Introduction to Informatica • Informatica Architecture: Informatica Core components, Server(Informatica Administrator), Services, Domain, Node, Licensing & Configuration of services • Client tools: PowerCenterDesigner,Workflow manager, Workflow monitor, Repository manager. • Informatica services: Integration service, Repository service, connections and roles. • Informatica Administration: Installation of Virtual machine, creating services , Adding users, Connecting with client:Adding and configuring domains , Creating folders and sharing folders in Central repository. • Creation of connections for various types of sources.

  5. Introduction to Databases • Data loading and unloading, Basic queries and joins, Working with semi structured data, Working with structured data, Importing data from E-commerce domain, Creating and dropping Indexes • Creating and compiling Stored procedures, Table operation such as create truncate update and delete, Changing data structure for structured data

  6. Informatica Client tools • Working with the designer. Working with sources and targets, Importing relational sources into informatica, Importing flat file sources in Informatica, Importing data from sales force, Source preview techniques , Creating targets in Informatica, Adding targets of various types in informatica. • Generate SQL dynamically in informatica. What is a mapping, Session, Workflow, transformation, mapplets and worklet.

  7. ITransformations • Filter:Filter transformation, Filter cache and internal working, Filtering various types of data, Multiple conditions based filter, Transformation properties, Performance tuning aspects. • Sorter: Sorting techniques ,Sorter internal data caching options,Single and multisort. • Performance tuning techniques for a sorter. • Router:Routing mechanism and Pipeline concepts with Grouping data by conditions • Usage of default group. • Source qualifier: Usage techniques, Why it is served as default transformation with every(except COBOL) source?, PreSQL and PostSQL usage and use cases,SQL override, Data sorting & Data filtering from SQL.

  8. Advanced Informatica I • Working with multiple pipelines: Various protocols to be followed while creating multiple pipelines, Understanding the data flow. • Target Load order: Understanding granularity of data with respect to load order, Changing the default load order to get expected data. • Constraint based load ordering: Understanding constraints and their suitability to the given load order. Use cases where constraint based loading can save a lot of time on evaluation. • Debugger: Understanding dependencies w.r.t debugger, check row status on required state of the mapping, Limitations of debugger. Types of sessions used in debugger. • Slowly changing dimensions(implementation using two techniques): • SCD Type-I, • SCD Type-II, • SCD Type-III. • Manual technique and auto generate technique. • Mapping Parameters: Types of parameters in Informatica. Creating a parameter file.,altering session properties. • Mapping Variables: Types of variables in Informatica, setminvariable, setmaxvariable and setcountvariable

  9. Advanced Informatica II • Advanced session properties: Configuration of transformations, sources and target properties at session level • load testing in informatica, Working with normal loading and bulk loading, setting update options, setting transaction options. Setting up connections at session level manually, Tracing level types. • Batch Processing: Types of tasks: Session task, Event wait, Event raise, File watcher event, Timer task, Decision task, Control task, STOP and ABORT, Assignment task. • Version Control: Checking dependencies of an object, types of objects in informatica, check in and checkout. • Loading techniques: Direct and Indirect loading of flat files and relational sources.
