This report details the ongoing improvements in Missing ET studies led by Lee Sawyer at Louisiana Tech University. Utilizing the p13.06.01 version of d0trigsim and L3FCalMEt, initial runs revealed significant shifts and issues with event triggers. The analysis drawn from multiple runs compares the performance of CAL_UNP and CAL_UNP_NADA tools to assess calorimeter responses under varying conditions. Further development efforts focus on L3TJetMEt and L3TCalMEt, with tests to refine calibration and minimize non-linearity corrections.

Level 3 Missing ET Studies • Used p13.06.01 version of d0trigsim and l3fCalMEt • Almost ran “out of the box” – Had to remove unpackers/muons from toollist • Default for offline trigger list: CalMEt_PvtxZ uses CAL_UNP_NADA • Default L3TCalMEt.rcp : UseCH=TRUE • Runs analyzed • Used the two runs for p13 certification comparisons: • 170246 (p12) and 170247 (p13) • These are BAD runs based on Jet/Met run list! • Shift-xy=6.41 GeV for 170246, 5.64 GeV for 170247 • Pulled raw files (parts 1 and 4 for each run) from SAM • Ran over 2000 events for each run. • Used a GOOD run from same period for comparison • Run 170277 • Shift-xy=0.57 GeV • Will compare results with L3Nada on/off and CH on/off • When L3Nada is on, L3NadaThreshold = 3.0001 • L3Nada off => Changing to CAL_UNP tool instance • Both CAL_UNP and CAL_UNP_NADA have calib=0 (No calorimeter non-linearity corrections in this study.) • EtaMax = 3.7 in L3TCalMEt.rcp On hold until SAM problems are fixed!
