  2. When to use the Future Tense In Italian, the future tense is used to express an action that will take place. It can be used after the words quando (when), appena (as soon as),and se (if) when the action of the main verb takes place in the future.

  3. Forming Verbs in the Future Step 1: remove the final “e” from the infinitive, Step 2: add the correct ending. io ònoi emo tu aivoi ete lui / lei àloro anno ARE, ERE and IRE verbs use the same endings!!!

  7. -Gare & -Care Verbs Verbs which end in –care and –gare, add the letter “h” in front of the ‘er’ to preserve the hard sound in pronunciation: Giocheremo a calcio. Verbs ending in –ciare or –giare, drop the “i” before adding the future endings: Dopo la partita mangeremo fuori.

  8. Quando, Appena or Se Quando ci vedremo, fisseremo un appuntamento. (When we see eachother, we’ll set up an appointment.) Le telefoneròappena arriveremo. (I will call her as soon as we arrive.) Se andrai dal parrucchiere, verrò anch’io. (If you go to the hairdresser, I will also come.)

  9. espressioni per il futuro • fra due giorni / un mese / un anno (in two days / a month / a year) • fra poco (in a little while) • la settimana prossima / il mese prossimo / l’anno prossimo (next week / month / year)
