    4. March 2010 4 Look, Listen and Live! What is Operation Lifesaver? International, nonprofit, public education program established to end collisions, deaths and injuries at highway-rail intersections and on railroad rights-of-way. Promotes public awareness of the highway-rail grade crossing environment and encourages compliance with the traffic laws relating to crossing signs and signals, as well as the private property laws related to rail trespassing.

    5. March 2010 5 Look, Listen and Live! Question 2 This sign tells you to: Stop at this sign. Slow down and prepare to stop at a railroad crossing. Look and listen for trains. If you see one, decide if you need to stop or not. No trains cross here.

    8. March 2010 8 Look, Listen and Live! Question 3 At crossings where there is a stop sign or signal on the other side of the tracks, how do you determine if you can cross without being caught on the tracks? There’s always room following a crossing. Get out of your vehicle and measure. Make a careful guess. Know the length of your vehicle. If it won’t fit, don’t commit.
