  1. Introduction Range Facility Management Support System (RFMSS) 1

  2. What is RFMSS? • The Range Facility Management Support system is a web application that serves several functions for Military Ranges. • Functions include: • Scheduling/Range Schedules (this class) • Range Control Fire Desk Operations • Airspace Management • Data collection (Ammo usage, Range usage) • Facility/Range Validation (helps AZ Guard)

  3. Who Uses RFMSS? • The Range Facility Management Support System use required by several Army Regulations and is currently used by: • U.S. Army (All Active Duty Ranges) • U.S. Army Reserve Training Installations • U.S. Army National Guard (All Training Sites) • U.S. Marine Corps (All Marine Ranges) • U.S. Navy (Navy firing ranges) • Currently the U.S. Air Force is discussing using the program.

  4. Scheduling • Scheduling is a process • Request submitted by Unit • Processed by Training Center • Approved / Modified / Disapproved by Training Center • Accepted / Modified / Canceled by Unit • Process is installation specific • Completed by one or more personnel

  5. RFMSS is an Information System an integrated set of components for collecting, storing, processing, and communicating information. Data & Databases People Users Operators Administrators Requesters and Schedulers InformationSystemComponents Hardware & Software Processes & Procedures

The Training Center Scheduler(s) are responsible for: • The final approval of all requested activities • Reviewing co-use agreements • Scheduling range and training area maintenance • Resolving scheduling, safety and environmental conflicts • Publishing the Range Bulletin • Adding individuals into the unit people certification table for OIC/RSO and other certifications.

  15. Scheduler Responsibility There are two entities involved in scheduling Training Center Schedulers Unit or Customer (Requester) • The Requester is responsible for: • • Submitting training requests • • Assisting in resolving scheduling conflicts • • Approving requests for subordinate units • • Issuing and approving co-use agreements • • Publishing the Range Bulletin

  16. Cross Fire Desk Scheduling The capability to request training activities on multiple Fire Desks with a single request. With Cross Fire Desk Scheduling the RFMSS site is the highest tier in the hierarchy. A RFMSS site is comprised of all the training centers operating on a single RFMSS server. Typically, with the National Guard, one server is supporting one site or State.

  17. Cross Fire Desk Scheduling Each training center is an installation within RMFSS. A site may have multiple installations. Each installation will have at least one fire desk. An installation may have multiple fire desks. A Fire Desk is assigned to an installation An installation is assigned to a site A site is managed by single server. Multiple Installations result in Multiple Fire Desks.
