BASIC INFORMATION • Students from 3 to 12 years old. • 475 students from middle-class families. • 35 teachers. • The town has 8,000 inhabitants. There are 2 nurseries, 2 infant and primary schools and a secondary school. • Catalan is the language of most families, though often one of the parent' first language is Spanish.
SPANISH EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM Catalan Departament of Education MEC Spanish Ministry of Education. • The Town Hall owns the school building, so it is responsible for its maintenance. • The Town Hall helps CEIP Rosella with a small amount of money every year
SCHOOL STAFF • 3 teachers in the management team. • 8 infant teachers, 15 primary teachers, 3 English teachers, 2 physical education teachers, 1 music teacher, 2 special needs teachers, 1 ITC teacher, 1 religion teacher. • A caretaker and a secretary. • Cook and school dinner ladies. • Parents Association (AMPA) which organizes after-school activities.

ITC EQUIPMENT • 1 o 2 computers in each classroom. • 15 classrooms with projector. • 8 interactive whiteboards. • 10 laptops. • Radio station • 3 video cameras • 8 cameras • Pendrive per child from 3rd grade.
RADIO • All primary students have a regular weekly session to produce part of a radio programme. • The older ones help the teacher to edit the final programme and put it on the school website. • Audacity is the software that we use. • News about the school, interviews and songs are common in the programmes.
PHOTOGRAPHY • 3rd and 4th grade is when they start taking pictures with the cameras. • They select the photos and use them to give information about different things. • They often use powerpoint. • There is a workshop to make plastimovies.
VIDEO • In 5th and 6th grade they use the video cameras. • The objective is either to produce a report about their environment or to make a short film where they are the actors. • Pinacle Studio is the programme they use.
THE INTERNET • Teachers encourage the students to look for information on the Internet. • Some classes have their own blog. • The Catalan Education Departament's website XTEC is used for educational games. • The school web is used by the pupils' families to see photos of school activities or download school documents.
