Scriptures for meditation: • "Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a NEW CREATION, old things are passed away and all things are become new" 2 Corinthians 5:17. • ‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved’. JOHN 3 : 16- 17.

  4. What is Baptism? • Baptism is a Christian ordinance ; a washing with water to demonstrate cleansing from sin. This is linked with repentance and admission into the community of faith which is the church. • Baptism is a Christian's final separation from the world. • Mark 16: 15-16 • Acts 19 verses 1 to 6. • Romans 6 verses 1 to 23. • Galatians 3 verse 27.

  6. WHY DO I NEED TO BE BAPTISED? • Ephesians 4 verse 5. • I am born again • I now have Christ in me– my union with Christ Galatians 3 verse 27. • I want to separate myself from the world and its systems – Romans 6 verse 4. • In obedience to God’s Word. • My faith – Colossians 2 verses 12 to 17.

  7. CONCLUSION: • Water baptism is the outward confirmation of the inward seal of the Spirit, whose presence is a guarantee of the eternal inheritance that awaits God’s faithful people. • 2 Corinthians 1 verses 21 to 22. • Titus 3 verse 5.
