(Moderation 15 – 16yrs) Stamina - Prolonged Effort (15 – 30 minutes) Speed Endurance 30m • Method A: Prolonged Effort • As children move into their teens their aerobic capacity decreases. • There is a need to develop this in a FUN way using the ball where possible • Activity • Volume: build from a suitable base 1400m to 2500m using pitch markings (20, 30 & 50m sprints) • Intensity: Medium pace to fast running • Type: Running with or without the ball individually and in groups of two or more • Time: for approximately 25 – 30 minutes twice a week in pre season. 40m 80m 40m • The FUN (Solo) Run • GAA is a multi sprint event – but it requires a good aerobic base on which to build. • Pitch marking allow coach to mix the length of runs and the pace to replicate game conditions. 50m Comhairle Uladh 2006
