  1. Vertical Gravity Line Lateral X-Ray Marking 22 Ant. DOTS Anterior and Posterior Sacral Base Anterior and Posterior Inferior Endplates L5-L1 Anterior and Posterior Superior Endplates L5-L1 Anterior Tubercle on Anterior Arch of C1 LINES and MEASUREMENTS • 685 Vertical Gravity Line (VGL) Anterior base of Sacrum to top and bottom of film Spinal Length Line(SLL) Red dotted line from dot at Anterior base of Sacrum to Anterior Tubercle of C1. Measure the length of the SLL in millimeters and notate to the left of the line. Draw a line from dot on Anterior Tubercle on C1 to Vertical Gravity Line (VGL). Measure this line in millimeters and notate on top of this line. Include if Anterior or Posterior weight bearing. -53 o Connect Dots on Sacral Base and extend to edge of film. Using a T-Square, measure the angle formed by the lines and write the angle in front of the Anterior Base of the Sacrum

  2. Vertical Gravity Line Lateral X-Ray Marking 22 Ant. LINES and MEASUREMENTS Connect the dots of the Inferior Endplates of L5 through L1 and extend to the edge of film. Measure the angles of these lines with a T-Square and write the angle in front of the vertebral body. 685 Connect the dots of the Superior Endplates of L5 through L1 and extend to the edge of film. Measure the angles of these lines with a T-Square and write the angle in front of the vertebral body. +24 +17 +14 +10 Determine L5 disc angles by finding the difference in the Sacral Base Angle and Inferior Endplate of L5 Determine L1 through L4 disc angles by the difference in the Superior Endplate Angle and the Inferior Endplate Angle of the vertebra above. +5 20 > -15 -25 -30 -44 9 > -53 o Mark in red with a carat, any angle greater than 7 degrees.

  3. Vertical Gravity Line Lateral X-Ray Marking 22 Ant. LINES and MEASUREMENTS Draw a horizontal from VGL, 75mm below dot on the anterior base of the Sacrum to the anterior aspect of the Sacrum. Measure this line in millimeters and write the measurement on the line 685 +24 +17 +14 +10 +5 20 > -15 -25 -30 -44 9 > -53 o 70
