  3. TR-42/FO-4 Synergy • Initiative started on residential homes and communities involving TR-42.2, FO-4.2 and FO-4.3

  4. Published Standards • ANSI/TIA-568-C.3, Optical Fiber Cabling Components Standard • The first of the 568-C Series approved for publication • Other 568-C Series standards will follow. (Default ballots on 568C.0 and 568-C.1 likely in February 2008.

  5. Published Standards • ANSI/TIA/EIA-862, Building Automation Systems Cabling for Commercial Buildings • Reaffirmed

  6. Bonding and Grounding • ANSI-J-STD-607-A, Commercial Building Grounding (Earthing) and Bonding Requirements For Telecommunications • Transferred responsibility from TR-41.7 to TR-42, assigned to TR-42.3 • TR-42.3.1 Working Group established for this effort • Intended to extend scope to telecomm outlet • Impact on screened/shielded cabling systems • Looking for switch manufacturer participation (e.g., Cisco, Nortel) • Close liaison with TR-41.7, ATIS NIPP

TR-42.3 Scope Change TR-42.3 – Commercial Building Telecommunications Pathways and Spaces The TR-42.3 Subcommittee develops and maintains standards for telecommunications pathways and spaces, and telecommunications bonding and grounding systems. within buildings into which cabling and equipment are placed.
