  7. 1. Do all the protocols have the same miss rate ? • Yes with 1 processor but with 8 processor had a different miss rate. 2. Which is the coherence protocol with the best miss rate ? • All the protocol has a same miss rate. No protocols have a worst miss rate with 1 processor. With 8 processor the MESI protocol had a worst miss rate with 20.32 miss rate with hydro trace and the best is DRAGON Protocol had a best miss rate with 8.9798 miss rate with hydro trace.

  8. 3. Do you observe any difference between the update based protocol and invalidation based protocols? Which and why? • Yes. Although the MSI and MESI protocols have the same miss rate, the MESI protocol generates less bus traffic. Also, it may be observed that the Dragon protocol has the least miss rate and bus traffic. This is possible because the Dragon protocol is a update-based protocol where as the MSI and MESI protocols are invalidation-based protocols. 4. Do you think that results and conclusions obtained with these experiments are of general application or they may change depending on the used benchmarks? • Yes, they may change
